This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

“The Australian Research Funding Landscape” is a series of workshops delivered through the UTS Aspire Program. Each workshop showcases the diversity of opportunities available to UTS researchers in attracting external research funding.

In this workshop, we will explore the 11 competitive schemes offered by the Australian Research Council (ARC) each year. We will cover schemes with both fundamental and applied research focus, including fellowships for individual researchers, team projects, infrastructure grants and large programs of research (hubs and centres). For each scheme, we will dive into eligibility rules and selection criteria, intended audience, past results and selected 'success factors', to enable potential applicants to make informed decisions about participating in highly competitive ARC schemes, in balance with other funding opportunities.

In addition, we will have guest speakers to reflect on their ARC grants journey and to give helpful advice to researchers who consider applying or participating for the first time, or in a different scheme. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.

The session will be facilitated by Dr Thorsten Kostulski and Kamy Ooi, Research Development Managers from the UTS Research Office with guest speakers A /Prof Tianqing Zhu and A/Prof David Bishop

Please note that this session will be recorded and the recording possibly uploaded as online training.

If you are unable to attend on the day but still would like to receive the content, please register so that we can send you a link to the recording.

The Australian Research Funding Landscape follow-on sessions will run in successive weeks. Each follow-on session will cover a specific funding opportunity in greater depth:
