Event description

Join us for a morning of bookbinding and en plein air sketching!

We'll start by creating our very own concertina sketchbook at Paper Bird. We'll select our paper and cover and turn it all into a special sketchbook that can be carried wherever you go. Both adults and children will make their own sketchbook.

Once we have our sketchbook, we'll spend a while wandering Fremantle together in search of the best spots to draw en plein air. We'll share some guidance on observational drawing and draw your eyes to things that might be interesting to draw, collect, and transfer.

This special workshop is for up to two children and their parent or guardian. Parents and guardians will retain duty of care during the workshop, so as to help facilitate a walking tour of Fremantle safely.

To note:

  • The age range specified for this workshop has been carefully considered to ensure we can teach and take care of each student to the best of our ability. Please take care to make sure your child is the right age for this workshop.

  • Parents/guardians will be asked to sign children in upon arrival and provide a contact number for the day. Children must be picked up from the workshop by a parent/guardian.

  • Art making is messy! We recommend wearing old clothes you don't mind getting paint and glue on.

  • Snacks are welcomed, but please bring allergy-friendly foods.
