Event description

Join the team from WAW and Parklands Albury Wodonga in our Banking on Trees planting morning on Sunday 3 August.

Thank you to BankWAW who donates the cost of plants, guards, and stakes for each new bank account opened in the previous year. This year efforts will contribute towards establishing much needed canopy cover between Ryans Lagoon North and Ryans Lagoon.  It will support Traditional Owner aspirations for this site and create a wildlife refuge for native fauna to help them adapt to the changing climate.

When: 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

Where: Park on Trabants Rd., Bonegilla, just off the junction of Snowdons Rd. and Ryans Rd.

What to bring: Closed shoes and long pants as the ground might be muddy. Also please bring your own water.

What will be provided:
• All tools, equipment, materials, and gloves (unless you want to bring your own gloves).
• BBQ lunch will include sausages, bread, and sauce. Those with special dietary requirements, please BYO.

About this event: Did you know that every time an account is opened at BankWAW, they plant a tree?

Trees create endless amounts of good. They clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity.

Planting a tree is also one of the easiest and cheapest ways to take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere to tackle the climate crisis. It’s also the easiest way that we, as individuals, can reduce our own footprint.
