Bruny Island Bird Adventure 2023
Event description
Due to the fantastic success of last year's event, we warmly invite you to join us on the beautiful South Bruny Island for the final Land for Wildlife/WildTracker workshop of the year.
The workshop will be held at Inala, one of the first properties to join the Land for Wildlife Program in Tasmania.
The Tasmanian Land Conservancy and Inala Nature Tours are offering Land for Wildlife members and WildTracker subscribers the unique opportunity to participate in a birdwatching and property tour on the 607 hectare Inala conservation reserve.
Walk with one of Inala’s specialist nature and conservation guides around the reserve, which is home to all 12 Tasmanian endemic birds. This three-hour tour gives you the opportunity to observe the endangered endemic Tasmanian forty-spotted pardalote from the purpose-built canopy platform within one of its largest known colonies. You can also see the habitat and nest boxes of the swift parrots and, if we are lucky, the fabulous bird itself.
While exploring the rich and varied habitats of Inala you can see all kinds of flora, fauna, fungi, geology and landscapes. You will have the things you see interpreted and explained by a knowledgeable guide and learn more about the conservation issues that face both the birds and the wider ecology of Bruny and Tasmania. You will also be accompanied by Land for Wildlife and WildTracker coordinators and other staff from the Tasmanian Land Conservancy.
Choose whether you explore the lower levels of the Inala conservation property (which is all flatter ground and moderate forest trails suitable for all levels of fitness and mobility) or enjoy the more rapid and strenuous tour to the very top of the property with gorgeous views over Cloudy Bay (suited to those with good mobility and fitness).

In the event of inclement weather, or a regional total fire ban, the event will be postponed/cancelled and you will be notified via email on the evening of Friday 27th October. The TLC will refund tickets in full if the event is cancelled. Please note that the TLC can take no financial responsibility for attendees' pre-booked accommodation, in the event of a cancellation.
This event will be run following TLC's Covid-19 safety guidelines.

We do hope you can join us to catch up with other Land for Wildlife and Wildtracker members, and members of the TLC team.
The TLC acknowledges the original owners of the land, the palawa/pakana people, and we pay our respects to elders past and present.
