Co-design Workshop for Families of People with Disability

About the event:
CRU is working with the Queensland Department of Child Safety, Seniors and Disability Services to design a new short course to assist families of people with disabilities to be co-designers.
Government departments and organisations often want input from people with disabilities and family members of people with disability who can comment from their lived experience. However, there are not enough people with disability in Queensland being invited to be part of these meetings. There are some voices not being heard.
CRU is developing this course so that people with lived experience of disability will:
- Be clear about what co-design is and isn’t and what they can contribute.
- Know why co-design is needed.
- Learn some new skills.
- Feel confident to have a say.
We hope that in the future, people who complete this course will then be engaged, and paid, to have a say in things that matter to them.
In June, we will be trialling this new one-day short course in the CRU office, and we are inviting you to attend the trial and give us feedback about our workshop. Parents and family members will be invited to one trial and people with disabilities to a different trial the same week.

Date: 18th June 2024 9.30am to 4.30pm for Parents and family members
Time: 9.15am for a 9.30am start til 4.30pm
Venue: CRU Office, Level 2, 43 Peel Street, South Brisbane
Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

This is a personal invitation, and numbers are limited.
There is no cost to attend the course which we hope will be of benefit to you. We can pay you a fee of $100 to provide feedback.
