EVolocity Launch Day - Auckland 2025

WHAT IS EVOLOCITY

EVs are fun. They are fast. They are the future.

EVolocity is a hands-on programme where school age teams design, build then race electric vehicles. EVolocity encourages innovation and students experience sustainable engineering, electronics and programming, welding, CAD design and fabrication - while gaining real-world skills of teamwork, project management and communication. LAUNCH DAY 2025

Launch Days are hosted at the start of each year for EVolocity teams, and anyone wanting to check out what the programme's all about. This year our Auckland launch is hosted by the University of Auckland, so this is a great opportunity to bring your students for a University experience where they'll:

• Meet the EVolocity team and learn how the EVolocity program works
• Learn how to get started designing and building your own electric race vehicle
• Meet our mentors
• Check out an electric race kart built by some of our past teams
• Hear from the UoA FSAE team and past EVolocity teams
• Take a tour of University of Auckland's workshops and meet their engineering experts

Can't stay for the whole time? That's okay! The event is free to attend and you'll be able to chat with our EVolocity team.

Our EVolocity presentation will be packed into the first hour so if you need to leave early to get home, you are welcome to.

Venue

Engineering Building, corner of Symonds and Grafton Road. University of Auckland - City Campus. 

Please aim to arrive at 12:15pm for registration. There will be staff to greet you at the entrance to the Faculty of Engineering Building on Grafton Road, and they will guide you to the lecture theatre. Please wait here until you are greeted by staff. See images below of where staff will meet you.

Parking

Please expect to pay for parking in the city. Parking is on a first come first served basis, and we recommend downloading the Wilson Parking app in advance. Please see the map below for parking suggestions, please note the fees may have changed.
