Integrating AI into the Research Workflow: A Principled, Hands-On Approach
Event description
THIS WEBINAR IS FOR KPU FACULTY.
Join us for a hands-on webinar, hosted by Melville School of Business Instructor Marcelo Machado, designed to introduce a practical framework for generative AI-enabled research currently being developed using AI agents. This session will outline the framework and present guiding principles rooted in ethical research practices.
Participants will engage in a hands-on exercise that explores how gen AI tools can support various phases of a research project (particularly within the social sciences). Activities will include:
Defining a research theme
Conducting a preliminary literature review
Formulating research questions
Selecting appropriate methodologies
Collecting and analyzing data
This process is intentionally non-prescriptive and adaptable, allowing researchers to apply the logic using tools that best suit their needs. While select tools will be demonstrated, the emphasis will be on transferable strategies that can be customized across platforms and disciplines.
Ideal for researchers working with qualitative or mixed methods, this workshop encourages exploration, ethical reflection, and practical experimentation with emerging AI capabilities.
