Event description

Experienced watercolour artist and tutor, Dan Nastasie,  splashes into Colour Theory; explaining how colours interact and influence perception.
It revolves around the colour wheel, categorizing hues into primary (red, blue, yellow), secondary (green, orange, purple), and tertiary colours.
Key principles include harmony (pleasing combinations like complementary or analogous colours) and contrast (opposites that create visual interest). Warm colours (reds, yellows) evoke energy, while cool colours (blues, greens) feel calming. Colour theory guides artists and designers in creating balanced, impactful visuals, shaping emotions and visual storytelling effectively.

In this session we will experiment with combinations of complementary and analogous colour and apply the theory of colour to a still life painting.
