This class is presented in conjunction with Eno Arts Mill's September gallery show featuring Triangle Book Arts.

About the Class:

Joomchi is a traditional Korean paper craft that creates textured handmade paper using your hands and water. Joomchi paper art dates back to the Goryeo Dynasty of Korea (A.D. 918-1392). /Explore ways to manipulate strong Korean mulberry Hanji papers, as the strength of these papers allows for the creation of felted and leather-like appearances robust enough to support stitches, inclusions, and appliqué.

During this hands-on workshop, we will view examples, learn about the history, and get your questions answered. You will also receive guidance on creating and adapting Joomchi to your projects. Consider the possibilities as you explore how the instructor has incorporated these techniques into book arts.
