Event description
Learner agency is the art of purposefully navigating through your own learning journey.
By integrating principles of learner agency into our practice we can support learners to take greater control of their educational journey, making their learning more enjoyable, engaging, and effective.
This series of three online workshops will provide you with essential skills, strategies, and knowledge to foster learner agency. You will find a wealth of tips, practical strategies, activities, and resources.
You can register for each of the workshops individually.
A special rate is available for those who register for all four workshops.

Workshop 1 | Developing a positive learner identity
Date: Wednesday, 9 April 2025, 12.10pm - 1pm
This workshop describes learner identity and provides strategies that educators can use to develop positive identities. It also includes links to supporting resources.
Workshop 2 | Developing personal learning strategies
Date: Wednesday, 16 April 2025, 12.10pm - 1pm
This workshop presents several starting strategies and how these can be integrated into delivery. It also includes links to supporting resources.
Workshop 3 | Supporting learners to organise their learning
Date: Wednesday, 23 April 2025, 12.10pm - 1pm
This workshop contains the secrets to supporting learners to rebuild their confidence, create ‘success momentum’, and become successful in any learning environment.
Workshop 4 | Supporting learners to solve problems, innovate, and learn effectively
Date: Wednesday, 30 April 2025, 12.10pm - 1pm
This workshop is designed to support learners to adopt effective learning strategies in difficult situations.

Billing information
We accept payments by card or by invoice. At checkout you will be able to choose your payment option. Invoices are raised by Massey University on behalf of Ako Aotearoa so please note that there will be a delay between registering for the event and receiving the invoice.
PLEASE NOTE: Invoices are limited to payment from registered tertiary organisations only
If you would like to pay by invoice, before registering, please find out from your finance team:
- the billing address and the email address you would like the invoice sent to.
- whether or not you require a purchase number, if a purchase order number is required, please email accounts@ako.ac.nz after registering with the order number in the subject line.
Registering for others?
If you are registering other people, please make sure to select 'Email tickets to each attendee' on the registration form so that each person receives their unique access to the online course/workshop.
Registrations close two days before the course date.
