Event description

Find Your Style: Colour, Confidence & Smart Shopping

Ready to refresh your look and feel more confident in your style choices?

This fun and practical session will guide you through the basics of personal styling — from understanding what colours suit you best, to building a wardrobe that works for your lifestyle and budget.

It's perfect for people who want to feel more confident — whether you’re job hunting, re-entering the workforce, or just want to feel good in your everyday clothes.

Personal Styler Julie Wightman will cover:

  • An introduction to personal style

  • What it means to “have your colours done” – and why it matters

  • The power of styling – how the right choices can boost confidence

  • Tips to spark your own sense of style

  • Smart shopping – how to spend well, budget wisely, shop sustainably, and find the best local spots

There will be time for live demos – a chance for a few volunteers to get quick feedback and advice. After enjoying a delicious morning tea, participants will be invited to engage in a hands-on activity where they can create their own style & colour mood board.

If you're looking for work or a fresh start, this session is a great way to boost your self-image and feel good about how you show up. So get out of your style rut, learn something new and build your confidence through this Look Good, Feel Great workshop.

Organised by Keep Learning Mid Canterbury and Mayor's Taskforce for Jobs through Ashburton District Council.
