Mono Relief Printing

This week-long print workshop with Wellington-based multimedia visual artist Sheyne Tuffery is designed for individuals seeking to create striking prints, employing both traditional and experimental techniques in both colour and black-and-white.

Introducing participants to the joy of printmaking, we'll cover the traditional rules of the print studio from the inception of an idea to the creation of finished relief mono-prints.

Utilising the texture of found objects, both natural and manmade; we’ll delve into the art of relief printing and innovative image transfer techniques using water-based inks. With a particular focus on woodblock printing and the intricate craft of chiselling, we will blend these techniques, allowing creative freedom to produce original images, and one-of-a-kind prints.
