Event description

Experience your deepened nature connection with forest bathing through the rainforest alongside the Obi Obi Creek, at the Baroon Pocket end of Kondalilla National Park.

Forest bathing draws on a sequence of evidence-based activities to support us to slow down, become more present and comfortable outside and explore or deepen your own relationship with nature. We'll wander, share, sit and get to know the beings that call this place home in a group of up to 12.

This walk includes:

  • Orientation to place, acknowledgement of country and sensory grounding

  • Full length guided sequence of relational nature therapy practices by ANFT certified guide

  • Fresh herbal tea ritual and snacks

  • Option to join the group for lunch afterwards at a cafe in Montville or continue on a longer hike

About the trail

We'll meet at the Lake Baroon trailhead of the Kondalilla National Park trailhead and journey together along the Obi Obi Creek. We'll be surrounded by lush rainforest, freshwater streams and cascades, ferns and tall gums.

It's a trail with some ups and downs, including stairs. You'll need a moderate fitness level to walk about 5km over the four hours. There is not a public toilet at the trailhead, but one nearby at the lake.

Kondalilla National Park (Lake Baroon/Baroon Pocket entrance) is about 1 hour and 40 minutes drive north from Brisbane and 35 minute drive west from Maroochydore.
