Preserving basics
Event description
Explore techniques of preserving food safely as a way to use up excess produce or just as a way to make delicious jars of preserves that will take pride of place in your pantry. We cover pickling, making jams, sauces and chutneys and other ways to transform potential food waste using age-old skills.
In this workshop, Maria Ciavarella, an experienced educator passionate about earth-life balance, will demonstrate and assist participants to practice a variety of preserving techniques.
If you have any access or support questions or requirements in order to participate fully (eg. interpreter), please let us know at least two weeks prior to the event and we will be pleased to assist you. The event will be recorded.
