Qualitative Data Analysis: Autoethnography - Triangulations
Event description
In this instalment of the Qualitative Data Analysis series, guest speaker Dr Camille Dickson-Deane will be exploring autoethnography:
When collecting data using the researchers/presenters/writers as the data points, autoethnography is a possible way to go. Autoethnographic studies couple autobiographies and ethnography methods to dive deeper in individualised experiences. These experiences are contextually and are typically positioned around an occurrence which are influenced by the situated environment (i.e., cultural, societal/social or political). The outcome of autoethnographic study is an in-depth understanding of the phenomena that occurred from a relatable and accessible narrative. These sessions outline the complexities that are typically ignored when conducting autoethnographic studies.
This session is the second of a 2-part series by Camille. The first session will be held 18 March, focusing on possibilities with autoethnography.
