Event description

About the Event:

PMINZ are excited to announce another great Taranaki Branch event: Sustainability in Everyday Projects. Project managers play a vital role in embedding sustainability into everyday projects, and Colleen’s message emphasizes that small, thoughtful changes add up to significant impact. She highlights how sustainability—like safety—should be a fundamental project requirement, not an afterthought. By leveraging tools like the GPM P5 Standard for Sustainability in Project Management and the Circular Design Framework (Engineering NZ), teams can have lasting impact with purposeful outcomes.

Drinks and nibbles and a chance to network and connect.

About the Presenter:

Colleen Thorpe is a professional Civil Engineer at Beca with over 20 years of experience in a variety of engineering projects in Canada and New Zealand. Colleen works within Beca to encourage sustainable outcomes for all industrial clients, by implementing training and coaching to project teams in New Zealand and Australia. Colleen’s work is a testament to the power of problem-solving, innovation and proactive thinking in sustainability. Her insights encourage all of us to speak up, challenge traditional methods and rethink how we can design and execute projects.
