Description

Three Qigong Saturdays to Christmas

NB The first session will be held either in the City of Burnside or Unley - park TBC - as the Xmas Pageant is being held in the city on 14th November and access to Veale Gardens will be restricted.

Create space. Find your flow. Keep your centre.

The lead-up to Christmas can be full of joy, connection and celebration, but it can also leave us feeling stretched, tense and depleted.

Three Qigong Saturdays to Christmas is a short Qigong series designed to help you move through the festive season with more ease in your body, steadiness in your nervous system and energy in reserve.

Across three Saturday morning sessions, we will practise a flowing sequence drawn from White Tiger Qigong, including Lung Qigong, Meridian Qigong, Dragon from 5 Element Qigong and Serving Teacups from 8 Trigram Qigong.

You will learn the core set in the first session, receive a recording to practise with at home, then return in December to refine the movements, deepen the internal principles and experience the sequence with greater ease and flow.

Rather than learning three completely different classes, we will revisit the same practice and explore it through three different themes.

Saturday 14 November

Create Space

Open the breath, chest, ribs and meridian pathways.

Release unnecessary tension and create more space to breathe, move and settle.

This session introduces the full practice and gives you the foundations to continue at home.

Saturday 12 December

Find Your Flow

Explore spiralling, fluidity and whole-body connection through Dragon and Serving Teacups.

We will refine how movement travels through the body, working with breath, fascia, rotation and coordinated movement rather than muscular force.

Saturday 19 December

Keep Your Centre

Bring the practice together with less instruction and more embodied awareness.

Ground, gather and conserve your energy so you can head into Christmas feeling more centred, connected and resourced.

Your practice between sessions

After the first class, you will receive access to a recorded version of the Qigong sequence.

This gives you time to become familiar with the movements before we meet again, so the later sessions can focus less on choreography and more on depth, sensation, flow and refinement.

Even a short regular practice can help you become more aware of where you are holding tension, where movement feels restricted and where you may be using more effort than you need.

Ancient wisdom meets modern movement science

From the Qigong perspective, we will work with breath, Qi flow, meridian pathways, organ energy, Yin and Yang, and the Water quality of adaptability and flow.

From a modern movement perspective, we will explore breath mechanics, rib and spinal mobility, fascial continuity, rotational movement, whole-body coordination and nervous system regulation.

The aim is not to push harder.

It is to move more intelligently, breathe more fully and stay connected to yourself during one of the busiest times of the year.

Your booking includes

  • Three live Saturday morning Qigong sessions

  • A recorded Qigong practice to use between sessions

  • A simple sequence you can continue beyond Christmas

  • Guidance in breath, posture, spiralling, meridian opening and whole-body movement

  • Adaptations to suit different bodies and abilities

No previous Qigong experience is needed.

You do not need to be flexible, fit or experienced. You will always be encouraged to move within a comfortable, pain-free range.

Who this series is for

This series may be especially supportive if you are feeling busy, tense or depleted as the year draws to a close, or if you would simply like a grounded practice to help you stay connected to yourself through the festive season.

It is also ideal if you are curious about Qigong, breathwork, meridian movement and embodied awareness, or if you already practise and would like to refine your spiralling, flow and whole-body connection.

About Your Instructor

Sarah Divine is a Qigong educator, Senior Instructor with White Tiger Qigong Australia, and founder of Sarah Divine Qigong.

She holds a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science and brings together traditional Taoist Medical Qigong with modern understanding of movement science, fascia, breath mechanics, nervous system regulation and interoceptive awareness.

Sarah’s teaching is grounded, practical and compassionate, with an emphasis on helping students understand not only how to perform the movements, but how to feel and embody them.

Her aim is to make Qigong accessible without losing its depth, so students can develop practices that genuinely support physical, emotional and energetic wellbeing.

Three Saturdays. One practice. A different way to arrive at Christmas.
