Event description

As children with disability grow into the later years of primary school, many families begin thinking about what’s ahead — the move to high school, increasing independence, and the changes that come with the teenage years.

In this workshop, we will cover:

  • Understanding the emotional, physical and social changes that may come with adolescence
  • Supporting your child’s voice and self-advocacy
  • Starting to involve your child in setting goals and shaping decisions
  • Finding the balance between growing independence and continued support

This session is for parents and carers of children in Year 5 and above who are beginning to navigate this new stage.
