Under 8yrs: Play, Joy & Interests: Virtual Autism MyTime
Event description
Play doesn’t have to look a certain way to be real. It might not follow the usual rules, but that doesn’t make it any less joyful, meaningful, or important.
From deep dives into special interests, to sensory exploration, to scripting, sorting, and repetition. These moments of play are more than just fun; they’re how many children make sense of the world, feel safe, and express themselves.
In this peer group we’ll explore:
• What Autistic play can look like in everyday life
• Why special interests are powerful, purposeful, and worth protecting
• How to recognise and nurture your child’s joy
• Letting go of outdated ideas about ‘real’ play
• Ways to support connection and learning through your child’s interests
This group is facilitated by Kristy
Kristy is a proud mum to Dash, who is Autistic and has ADHD, just like his mum. She’s passionate about connecting with other families and celebrating neurodivergent joy and all the strengths that come with thinking differently.
