Join us and practice and push your observational drawing skills, rendering local flora, geology, and vistas! 

Aidan Koch is an artist and graphic novelist based in Landers, California. Her work is focused on ecological storytelling. Koch has exhibited across the United States and Europe, and her most recent book, Spiral and Other Stories, was published in 2024 by New York Review Comics.

You can practice various forms of observational drawing in the field through timed exercises. We will also discuss the fundamentals and tools of drawing on the go and drawing as a form of ecological knowledge building. 

Participants must bring the following items for your course: a sketchbook, loose paper, preferred drawing utensils (e.g., pencils, colored pencils, pens, ink and brush, watercolors, pastels), and an optional folding stool or seat as needed for comfort.
