Event description

Nourish to Flourish: Women in Print 2025 Breakfast Series

Join us for the 2025 Women in Print Breakfast Series, where we explore multiple facets of Nourish to Flourish; a whole life  approach to wellbeing at both work and in our families. Across the country, our speakers will share various insights on physical health, mental health, and the role of happiness and self-care in bringing our best selves out.

In Sydney, our event will feature a  panel that will dig into the topic from multiple angles. The panel features Samantha Flook, Strategic Psychotherapist & Mindset Coach at The Core Health, well known Industry mental health advocate and founder of Anchor Health Group Steven Gamble; Que Nhi Makar, National Marketing Manager at Ball & Doggett; and Carmen Ciappara, National Advertising Manager at The Printer Media Group.

The discussion will be facilitated by Sarah Cassim, a multi-award-winning community leader and founder of Hawkesbury Women in Business, known for her advocacy in mental health awareness, leadership, and small business.

Audience participation is encouraged in this frank and open discussion around the impact of health issues, on our work and personal lives.

Karen Lawler

Karen Lawler, Patron for New South Wales and the ACT will welcome you to the Sydney Breakfast. Karen is a Business Development Manager at Cactus Imaging, and specialises in working with direct clients, including smaller sign shops and media agencies. Her role spans nationwide advertising campaigns to supporting local businesses with their signage needs, showcasing her adaptability and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Beyond her professional career, Karen is a passionate photographer, with expertise in sports and live music photography. She completed a Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging at Torrens University in early 2024 and continues to refine her craft, capturing everything from racetrack action to live performances.

An advocate for mental health awareness, Karen openly discusses imposter syndrome and the importance of self-care. She finds solace in creative outlets, particularly ceramics, a hobby she has pursued for over a decade. On Friday nights, she can often be found at a ceramics studio in Surry Hills, crafting functional art pieces that she affectionately refers to as “wabi-sabi” creations.

Karen’s personal ethos is inspired by individuals who achieve extraordinary things in ordinary ways. She actively supports causes such as homelessness awareness and regularly attends live music events, finding immense joy in the energy and connection they foster.

As a state Patron for Women in Print in both the ACT and NSW, Karen is dedicated to increasing visibility for women in the industry and fostering a supportive network. She aims to use her platform to champion and elevate the achievements of women in print, encouraging others to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new opportunities.
