Why World Wetlands Day Matters

World Wetlands Day is celebrated every year on February 2nd to highlight the importance of wetlands for people, animals, and the planet. Wetlands, which include marshes, swamps, and lakes, provide clean water, protect us from floods, and offer a safe home for creatures like frogs, birds, and turtles. This year's theme, "Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future," encourages people of all ages to work together to protect these vital ecosystems. By learning about wetlands and taking action to preserve them, we ensure they remain healthy and continue to support wildlife and people for years to come.

Event Location:

The Wetlands Centre Cockburn, 184 Hope Road, Bibra Lake WA 6163
