Portable Looms and Weaving
Event description
A 4-week Studio Class. Learn how to assemble your own lap loom, designed to be collapsible, and then with it weave your own creation! In this course, students will learn about the best yarns and tools to use, warps and wefts, and various weave structures. Finally, students will take their creations off the loom and professionally finish them for display or functional use. In addition, students will get the opportunity to create a warp-faced weave with a small-scale inkle-like loom, that attaches to any stable structure like a tree or post, and weave a narrow belt, band or ribbon.
