Intro to Stone Lithography
Event description
In this week-long course, students will produce an edition of prints using the traditional process of Stone Lithography.
Students will get the chance to draw on a slab of lithographic limestone, learn how to operate a Litho Press, and take home a limited edition series of prints of their drawing. Lithography is one of the best ways to reproduce drawings and has been used as a dominant print process since its inception in the 18th century.

About the Instructor:
Nick Phan is a Vietnamese American printmaker who was born in Kansas City, Missouri. His artwork has been nationally and internationally exhibited. Nick received his undergraduate degree from Truman State University in 2018 and his master's degree from Northern Illinois University in 2022. He has taught at universities in Illinois and Missouri, and is currently an instructor of printmaking at the Kansas City Art Institute.
Supplies: The instructor will contact registered students directly regarding materials and supplies.
Parking: Parking is available in any of the (NON-RESERVED) KCAI parking lot spaces across campus. There is also available street parking surrounding KCAI campus.
