When the Load Gets Heavy: Webinar Series
Event description
The mental load of disability parenting can be relentless—managing appointments, coordinating therapies and meeting everyone’s needs. All while carrying the constant guilt and worry of whether you're doing enough.
It’s even harder when it feels like you are doing it on your own and asking for help feels like one more thing to add to the list. This session is about naming that load, letting go of the guilt, and exploring what support can look like—for you, your child, and your whole family.
We’ll explore:
Who’s in your support network—and how to build it with intention
How to ask for help, even when it feels hard
Using supports like support workers without feeling guilty
Juggling multiple needs of different family member
Setting boundaries and carving out time to care for yourself
These webinars will be recorded. If you can’t attend live, register to receive the replay via email.

About the Webinar Series
Beyond the Diagnosis is a four-part Conversation Series created for parents navigating the emotional and practical realities of raising a child with disability. Through real, honest conversations, you’ll hear from parents and professionals about the things we often don’t talk about—but that can make all the difference.
Who is this event for?
Families of children with disability, developmental delay or autism across New South Wales. While this event is primarily designed for these families, we value inclusivity and welcome all families who would like to participate, including from other states across Australia.
