Join consulting gardening and weed expert Kate Wall for an immersive experience as you wander around Green Thumb Farm identifying and learning all about the hidden medicinal and edible qualities of common spring weeds.  Participants love Kate's workshops and leave full of inspiration and enthusiasm for making better use of nature's healing foods. 

Pesto and garden greens



What you will learn:  
  • Identify and learn edible and medicinal uses of common spring weeds
  • How to make a scrumptious and nutritious edible weed pesto - with taste testing of course!
  • Options for perennial weed options so that you can be equipped to create your own delicious weed pesto's all year round!

What to bring: 
  • Your favourite notebook & pen as you will want to record everything
  • Please wear closed shoes, and be prepared for walking on uneven ground around the farm
  • A hat, water bottle & sunscreen


    Experience level: 

    Suitable for beginners or experienced weed enthusiasts alike. 


    Parking:

    Free onsite parking (Take the turn off from Mt Samson Rd, into Green Thumb Farm. Take the first turn to the left which leads you past a little red building (this is where you will meet Kate for the workshop)


    About Kate Wall: 

    Kate Wall is a gardening consultant based in Brisbane, who specialises in teaching how to garden in harmony with nature. Kate focuses on sustainable and eco friendly gardening techniques which are better for the environment but also SO much easier than traditional approaches. Kate has a background in environmental science and her passions have lead her into the field of professional gardening. Kate has written several gardening books and has received peer recognition and industry awards for her work in the field. Kate runs regular gardening workshops and is often speaking at various garden clubs and events.
