Still Life Musical Chairs
Event description
Join artist Ileigh Hellier for this high energy, high fun, art workshop. You'll learn to draw still life, but you'll hardly stay still!
Still Life Musical Chairs combines the timeless art of still life drawing with a playful twist. Here’s how it works. A beautifully arranged, nature-inspired still-life will be set up on a large communal table. Participants will position themselves around the table and begin sketching the still life from their perspective. But here’s the catch – when the music stops, everyone must switch chairs and continue drawing from a new angle!
Participants will use a range of materials (including pencils, markers, pastels and charcoal) and will be guided by experienced artist Ileigh Hellier to develop their observational drawing skills, including consideration of composition, how to create tone and texture, and material specific techniques. All materials will be provided, so just bring your enthusiasm and get ready for a day of artistic fun. This workshop is perfect for young artists of all skill levels. It encourages observation, adaptability, and creativity, while providing a fun and dynamic way to explore different perspectives.
