Join legendary underground mangaka Atsushi Kaneko as he takes you behind the scenes of his creative process. Kaneko holds a unique place in the world of manga, skillfully blending manga with American influences and an explosive punk spirit.

This Deep Dive will provide a rare opportunity for local creators to get a better understanding of Kaneko’s career, technical skills and underground manga.


Please note:

  • This is a hands-on workshop. Materials are provided, but feel free to bring your own if you like.

  • This workshop is for attendants aged 16+.

  • If you are unable attend this event, please request a refund via your order confirmation email so we can offer you a full refund. Please do not attend this event if you are unwell.

Featuring: Atsushi Kaneko
Atsushi Kaneko is a manga artist. His alternative style distances him from mainstream manga.

His works include Bambi, SOIL, Wet Moon, Deathco, Search & Destroy, and EVOL. His manga have been translated and published in many countries, especially across Europe. SOIL won the prize for cartoonists at the St. Malo Literary Festival in France. Wet Moon won the French Comics Critics Award (ACBD Critic's Prize). He also wrote and directed the anthology film Rampo Jigoku. In recent years, he has further expanded his activities as an artist, holding solo exhibitions.

His latest work EVOL is being adapted into a TV series, and distributed by DMM TV.
