Facilitating Neurodivergent-Friendly Groups
Description
Neurodivergent individuals may struggle with aspects of group therapy that can be easily adapted to be neuro-affirming for all participants.
This continuing education course for mental health professionasls is designed to help you facilitate groups that acknowledge and honor a variety of neurotypes. We’ll examine some of the ways that typical group therapy expectations may not work for neurodivergent individuals, and explore options for creating groups that are neurodivergent-friendly and more welcoming to all participants.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
Describe neurodivergence, inclusive of and beyond ADHD and Autism
Identify at least 4 characteristics of general group therapy that may create barriers for neurodivergent individuals
Implement at least 5 inclusive elements that increase the neuro-affirming aspects of group therapy
Any questions or accommodation requests should be directed to Michelle F Moseley, LCHMC via email at owner@michellefmoseley.com
Everyone who registers for the training will receive 30-day access to the recordings, provided approximately 48-72 hours after the training ends.
You must attend the live training, and complete the NBCC required evaluation, in order to receive CE credits.
