Youth Art Workshop with Lalune Croker | Friday 26th April | Mackay Homeschool Network
We invite youth aged 5+ through to teenagers to join artist Lalune Croker for a morning of creation and artistic expression. Participants will utilise bamboo, cane, paper and paint to create flat and 3D sculptures to reflect the flora, fauna and natural life in the Northern Beaches of Mackay. Youth can book one workshop for a smaller creation, or both the morning and afternoon workshop if they are wanting to create a larger piece. The workshops on Friday 26th April have been specifically created for students of the Mackay Homeschool Network.
These creations will then form a public art installation at Northern Beaches Bowls Club from Monday 29th April - Sunday 5th May. At the conclusion of this installation, the items will then be stored and utilised again in the upcoming TIDELINES exhibition at Bucasia Esplanade in late May, 2024.
Cost: FREE! This specific workshop is funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund. ‘The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Mackay Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland’. BYO: Water and snacks to sustain you whilst you create.
When booking a ticket for this workshop, you only need to book a ticket for the youth participant, not the adult supervising.
Please note: Parents of primary school aged children must be directly supervised and have a parent/guardian present at all times. Older participants will have the opportunity to stay at the workshop without an adult present, however we do expect that parents will walk their child in, introduce themselves to Lalune, sign them in and discuss this arrangement and the suitability of the situation. If this occurs, please ensure you collect your child on time and come into the venue to sign them out, as well as witness your child's creation.
Location: Northern Beaches Community Hall, 24 Wallace Street, Bucasia.
